Saving Savannah’s Canopy, One Cut at a Time: Catch Our New Micro-Series!
Savannah’s iconic tree canopy isn't just a point of local pride—it’s our green infrastructure, our neighborhood cooling system, and the heart of our coastal ecosystem. But keeping our urban forest healthy takes constant, intentional care. Right now, our trees are facing a quiet, slow-motion threat across Chatham County: invasive plant species.
To shine a spotlight on this critical issue and equip our community with the tools to fight back, the Savannah Tree Foundation team has been hard at work at Westlake Neighborhood Park's FEMA lot and beyond. And we’re taking you behind the scenes!
We are excited to share that we are officially halfway through filming our brand-new, 10-part educational video series: Canopy Guardians: The Fight Against Invasives.
With five episodes already in the bag, our team members have been getting their hands dirty on camera to break down the science of forest preservation into simple, actionable steps. Supported and reshared by partners like the Georgia Forestry Commission, this series covers everything you need to know about protecting our local trees, including:
